Chetana Cooperative Crosses NPR 2 Billion in Total Deposits

A historic milestone — Chetana Saving & Credit Cooperative has officially crossed NPR 2 Billion in total member deposits, cementing its position as the leading cooperative in Lumbini Province.

A Journey of 12 Years

Founded in 2069 BS with just 48 founding members and NPR 4.8 Lakhs in initial capital, Chetana Cooperative has grown into the financial backbone of thousands of families across Banke, Dang, and Bardiya districts. This milestone of NPR 2 Billion in total deposits is not merely a number — it is the result of 12 years of trust, discipline, and collective effort.

The cooperative's growth trajectory has been consistent: from NPR 200 Million in 2075 BS to NPR 500 Million in 2077 BS, crossing NPR 1 Billion in 2079 BS, and now achieving the NPR 2 Billion landmark in 2081 BS.

The Board has also announced a special bonus dividend of 2% for all members who have maintained continuous deposits for over 5 years.

Road Ahead

The management has set a target of NPR 3 Billion in deposits by fiscal year 2082/83. This will be supported by the opening of 3 new branches in Surkhet, Kapilvastu, and Rupandehi, along with the launch of a new digital savings product through the HamroConnect app.
